About Vines Society

Vinehall has a flourishing former pupils’ society called the Vines Society, membership of which is open to all leavers on payment of a life subscription. The aim of the Society is to foster friendships which have been forged at the School. The Society is run by the Vines and is wholly self-financing. The current Chairman is Matthew Wilson, the Treasurer is Will Foster-Kemp, and the Secretary is Malcolm Gordon, who can be contacted c/o Vinehall School. The Society has a Committee which meets twice annually, and there is always an Annual General Meeting on Vines Day in the Summer.

The Vines Society sends out regular newsletters to its members, and there is a Vines Day organised at the School each year, usually on the first Sunday of July. The day offers former pupils the opportunity of meeting up with friends and keeping in touch with developments in the School. Traditionally the Vines cricketers take on the 'Head’s XI', and the Friends of Vinehall organise a fete for the entertainment of the children and Vines. It is always a very happy family day.

In 2008 the Society will celebrate its 50th Anniversary (and 70 years of the school).

An Anniversary Ball (in conjunction with the Friends) will be held on Saturday 28th June.

Vines Day 2008 will be held on Sunday 29th June.
