Playing sport is an important part in the life of every pupil at Vinehall. Our prime purpose in teaching Physical Education and Games is to help each child to develop confidence in a wide range of movement skills and to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
All pupils have at least 4 games lessons a week. The games sessions are organised in a variety of year groupings to make the best use of the grounds and games staffing. The school has excellent facilities including a large sports hall, swimming pool, 6 tennis courts and a large number of games fields. There is also a 9-hole golf course set in the school grounds.
We aim to help every child to develop their full potential by not only stretching the more able games players, but also providing challenging and fun challenges for the less physically gifted. Everyone will experience success and failure in their sport at some time and we feel it is important that children at Vinehall learn to keep a proper sense of perspective when playing in matches. This means showing respect for your opponent and treating them as you would wish to be treated yourself. All children playing in team sports are expected to be courteous on the field of play and to show good sportsmanship in their performance.
